| Кратка информация: | A Company continues a long Tradition Each story has its motive. For Dr. Willmar Schwabe (1839 – 1917), one of the German pioneers in homeopathy, the motive was to set quality standards for the production of homeopathic medicines. His work and commitment have been a binding legacy for DHU up to the present day. Already in the middle of the 19th century homeopathic preparations were in great demand. The preparations of those days were manufactured by pharmacists, varied dramatically, however, in quality and were sometimes even of questionable quality. Homöopathische Centralofficin Dr. Willmar Schwabe It was one German pharmacist who was so dissatisfied with this situation - Dr. Willmar Schwabe - that he developed analytical methods and defined pharmaceutical technical processes, he introduced quality controls and organised the cultivation of his own medical plants. In 1866, two years after his qualification as a pharmacist, he founded his own company "Homöopatische Centralofficin Dr. Willmar Schwabe" (Central Homeopathic Dispensary Dr. Willmar Schwabe). The foundation of this company was to become a milestone in medical history. In accordance with his stringent quality criteria, homeopathic preparations were produced in industrial quantities. By and by, more than 700 regional dispensaries distributed throughout Germany, Europe and all over the world were added to the original "Centralofficin" in Leipzig. Pharmacopoea Homoeopathica Polyglottica Having inaugurated the first homeopathic policlinic in Leipzig, Schwabe started his activities in the fields of health and social politics. In 1866 he founded a publishing house specialising in literature for both the medical profession and the public. In 1872, he produced the standard work for homeopathic pharmaceuticals – the "Pharmacopoea Homoeopathica Polyglottica", which gave minutely detailed instructions on the production of homeopathic medicines. A milestone for homeopathy. Soon, Schwabe´s work gained world-wide recognition and was translated into many languages. In 1934, a new edition was published as the official "Deutsches Homöopatisches Arzneibuch" (German Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia), which is now incorporated into the homeopathic section of the official German Pharmacopoeia. DHU - Deutsche Homöopathie-Union Back to our company. In 1946, the Schwabe company relocated business from Leipzig to Karlsruhe. Today, the fourth generation still continues family traditions in the company for both pharmaceutical lines: the production of herbal and homeopathic medicine. The interest in homeopathy as a holistic and natural medical therapy had markedly increased. To answer the needs of both fields, the areas of production were separated: the affiliate DHU, Deutsche Homöopathie-Union, was born. DHU has been founded in 1961 and is today the market leader in Germany as a manufacturer of homeopathic preparations of highest quality - in the tradition of Hahnemann and in compliance with the stringent manufacturing procedures stipulated by the founder of our company. |
